SolarImpact Yacht - is an innovative company with clear plans for the future. It consists of a team of experienced engineers, designers and precision mechanics with an eye for beautiful shapes and the necessary know-how for modern technology. Our company is headquartered in Zürich and has production facilities in Dresden. We specialize in the development and design of Swath luxury yachts powered exclusively by solar energy.
The idea came from the visionary Werner Vögeli. With his own experience of several years on a yacht, he became more and more aware of a clean environment and the idea for a Mediterranean alternative to fossil combustion engines was born. However, his own market research revealed that there are no environmentally friendly yachts suitable for the high seas, especially in the premium segment. That was about to change: Werner Vögeli began to work on it with a team of technicians, inventors, scientists, designers and other visionaries. This was followed by countless theoretical calculations, model tests in research institutes and self-propelled models in the sea. After 5 years of research, the project is now being realized.
The future is electric
The future will be electricity. We are firmly convinced of this. Already today the great interest in our 100 percent solar-powered luxury yacht SolarImpact is measurable and we have no doubt that green technologies and the abandonment of fossil fuels have great potential for the future in the luxury yacht segment.
Building a yacht this complex and full of modern solutions requires brilliant minds. SolarImpact relies on cooperation with renowned European technology partners.
Since 2010, SolarImpact Yacht AG, in cooperation with its subsidiary SCHAAF Yachtbau GmbH, a pioneer of individual extravagance, has been manufacturing aluminium sport boats up to 40 feet as well as tender boats and special constructions in the premium segment.
The drive technology and energy supply is developed in close cooperation with the Austrian Kreisel Electric GmbH & Co.KG, a company known for the development of highly efficient battery packs, which are among the lightest and most efficient high-performance batteries in the world. For solar energy generation, SolarImpact cooperates with SOLBIAN, the specialist for flexible solar modules in the maritime sector.
The most efficient solar cells from the American supplier SunPower, which have already circumnavigated the world in SOLBIAN modules, are used here.
The design of our yacht was developed by Marlena Ratajska.
